Chimera Labs is a full-floor, approximately 38,000 SF community laboratory built on the second floor and 18,500 SF of office, shipping, storage, and miscellaneous space on the first floor of an existing property in Tukwila, WA. This project was procured using the CM/GC contracting method with KWH acting as a dedicated subcontractor to Turner Construction to fulfill the project's AISC Certified Erector requirement. The project scope included building upgrades to support lab functions in which KWH erected steel roof mechanical platform addition, multiple MEP openings, 2 floors of elevator steel, and reinforced steel trusses. KWH managed the procurement of all superstructure-related materials and met the project’s fluctuating schedules with professionalism and readiness.
